Ghana should never get involve in this hideous idea of legalized guy marriage. If a man chooses to sleep w/t another man and a woman chooses to sleep w/t a woman, that is their own business. In fact God has given us the privilege of making our own choices, therefore whatever anyone chooses to do is their own business, but the LAW should not be made to inflict others. In Canada, they have legalized guy and lesbian marriage...this is a big mistake that the country has ever done. When you talk about this like this, people say we're using the Bible to commit prejudice, if that is the case, then let me ask you...isn't wrong to teach your child right and wrong. I am a HUMANIST, anything that brings division in being a Human simply disgust me. example is Religion, Class, Racism etc
I do not have gay friend. I don't even think about it. My problem is the fact that people cannot make a reasonable argument without using religion. Religion is a divisive weapon.
In my culture, it is not because of ignorance, but because it is inconceivable for anyone to ever think of anybody to contemplate about being Gay, that is the issue. Nothing can be done to anybody professing to being gay, problem may arise when someone is accuse of being one or courting someone. Go to kumasi, in fact Accra Labadi beach. you will be amaze.
If my son came home and said Dad am Gay and that I should accept his decision. My fellow brothers and sisters, exactly what can I do? Pray, question myself about where I went wrong? No, I would simply accept it. I cannot change the believe of someone without killing them - which religion does very well.
Fellow Pan Africans, let us try and accept people for who they are. If we want to change others maybe we should should change our own thinking and ourselves.
My comment is not for legalization or illegalization of gay people. It is for the acceptance of the fact that others are different and we should accept them for being different, not on religions ground, class ground or intellectual grounds but HUMANIST grounds. Thank you. Reply to this

Being gay is a choice not a birth right; just like those who indulge in what we term "harmful drugs". They deserve no public sympathy. If we are not careful one day some people who have sex with animals will get bold and start demanding rights just like gays. I rest my case. Reply to this

It's not judging. Anyway, i could go on and on analyze every aspect of everyones' comment but i think I've said enough. Take care. Reply to this

Apart from your people being very religious, either Christians or Muslims, being gay is not part of your culture. it is true, these people are out there in ghana but you must not give them the right to become the same as normal people. Some of you will disagree with me but yes, it isnt normal to be homosexual. i sometimes feel ashamed of my home country making an idiot out of itsself, in copying what other countries do. it is sad to read such things nowadays, and to see that people supporting it too. it is obvious that all values are vanished and that there is no appreciation and respect for and in ghana, and in the ghanaian community anymore. i hope people are going to change their minds and help to build new respect, and a new sense of pride for ghanaians in and outside ghana. GAY ,MARRIAGE SHOULD NEVER EVER BE LEGALIZED IN GHANA. AND THE MEANING OF GAY MEANS HOMOSEXUAL , BISEXUAL OR LESBIAN
A HOMOSEXUAL REFERS TO A MAN WHO IS ATTRACTED TO HIS FELLOW MAN.
A LESBIAN IS A LADY WHO IS ATTRACTED TO HER FELLOW LADY.
BISEXUAL COULD BE ALSO REFERS TO AS GAY IT STANDS FOR MAN OR WOMAN WHO LIKE BOTH SEX LIKE GAY AND LESBIAN
MY OPINION IS GAY MARRIAGE SHOULD NEVER BE LEGALIZED IN GHANA.

I ask that you stop with any anti gay prejudice you have. Because contrary to popular belief, Traditional African beliefs, BEFORE European and Muslim influences, was NOT anti gay. Being against gays is NOT African. When you do this, you are only trying to be like Adolf Hitler and the European nations that once oppressed gays.
See, as an American of African ancestry, I understand the poverty that is in West Africa. This poverty contributes to the antigay attitudes we have on this site.
In order to get rid of diseases in our community, we have to stop being anti gay. In order to destroy some of the poverty affecting Ghana, we have to get right of gay prejudice. This prejudice destroys the mind and spirit of Ghana's youth; future doctors, lawyers, farmers, etc. Discrimination against people will cause many doctors, lawyers, or whoever, to leave Ghana. These people may be gay.
People believe that being prejudice against gays is ok because the Bible says so. Well, I'm here to tell you this: The Bible in it's original Greek language was NOT anti gay. Throughout the years, homosexuality became a crime in Europe after the 7th century, and people have forged the Bible to make it anti gay. Jesus NEVER had a problem with homosexuality or gay people. If somebody tell you this, they are ignorant and prejudice. In the Bible, there is a story about the gay Ethiopian Eunuch that Jesus knew was gay. Jesus respected him.
The same people who used the Bible against gays, have used the Bible to say that we as blacks are an inferior race. Arab Muslims and white Christians have tried to use their religion to say that we are a cursed people, and that enslavement of us was justified. I know, I went to college with some of those people.
If anybody would like to comment, please do so. However, a more richer Ghana and prosperous Ghana, will completely destroy any type of anti gay prejudice in the community. A poverty Ghana will continue to have anti gay prejudice. See, the more prejudice you show against people in your country, the more diseases and injustices will occur.
Lastly, before you dismissed my argument, a man by the name of Bayard Rustin worked with Kwame Nkrumah. Bayard Rustin was one of the greatest leaders to ever live. Bayard Rustin supported you in 1957. Bayard Rustin supported Dr. King. Bayard Rustin made it known that he was not heterosexual. If you truly want to honor Ghana, stop with the ignorance and accept your gay brothers and sisters.
When we talk about diseases in our community, we must STOP any anti gay talk. It only destroys us as a people of the African diaspora. You come from a rich civilization that never hated on a group of people. You have adopted the ways of the Europeans. That's why you want to be like them. A free Africa is a Africa that makes sures African brothers and sisters are free from social oppression.

Brother, homosexuality has ALWAYS existed in your beautiful country, and it will ALWAYS exist. I'm telling you this, the more anti gay prejudice you have in your nation, the more poverty Ghana will continue to have. There are many children who might not have a heterosexual identity. Those children will only grow up and leave a prejudice Ghana; a Ghana who does not accept them. Future doctor, lawyers and other workers will leave your nation. Thus, Ghana will lose people who will make it a powerful nation. Honor your nation and do what's right. The Jesus Christ that you and I worship told us to help the homeless and the poor. Jesus was not concerned with us hurting people who are different than us. He was not concerned with us bullying a population of people. That is NOT Africa. That is being like Adolf Hitler. Hitler killed many homosexual people.
As an American of African descent, I'm telling you everything I studied about your nation in college. When the Europeans colonized Ghana and the rest of West Africa, the white Christian missionaries introduced their culture to you. Their culture was prejudiced against gays. That's why you are anti gay. You are anti gay because of colonialism. Your traditional African religion was NOT anti gay.
Brother, if you want to stop the injustices in your nation, you got to do what Jesus did and accept everyone. Why pick on gays for. They are a weak group in society. Who do they pick with? Who do they fight? Why bully a group that is peaceful and nonviolent? Gays are the weakest group in the entire world. The real enemies are those that have stolen from the continent of Africa. Not your gay brothers and sisters who suffer everyday like you. They are oppressed like you.
Jesus Christ was no bully. Jesus did not pick on the weak people of society. Gays are the weak people of society. A beautiful Africa is a Africa that is free from any type of prejudice.

Nicely put my brotha! Prejudice is exactly why Africa is suffering from the world's biggest brain drain. I did not know about Bayard Rustin, He sounds highly interesting and I will do some research on him. It makes me mad when people use the Bible to justify their prejudices. Jesus was a humanist and preached acceptance, equality, and love. His main message was to love thy neighbor as thyself. Somehow, mankind has neglected this philosophy and mistaken Jesus' message for something that it wasn't. Jesus actually preached against the people that practiced prejudice, fundamentalism, and segregation: the pharisees. The Bible, the greatest book ever written, is a compilation of what the Catholics deemed appropriate in their societies at the time. It is not a coincidence that it is highly paternalistic either because that was how society worked back then. The Bible was used as a justification for slavery and all the injustices that people of African descent endured...does that make it ok? Lets stop preaching against homosexuality and actually preach for acceptance and safe sex. Prejudice is not African; it is a western idea, therefore, by perpetuating idiotic prejudices you are acting just like the colonialists, the kkk, white supremacists, and all the anti-black groups and organizations that are out there! We understand what you guys are trying to say.Discrimination should not be tolerated in any form wherever.
what we are saying is that everyone has the right to be with whoever he/she wants, but we cant allow homosexuality to be legalized in Ghana.
Jesus Christ said love your neighbour as yourself, yes its true, but He did not preach in favour of Homosexuality. So we cant also preach in favour of it.What you and I do in our private lives is b/n us and God, but the fact that it feels good or harmless doesnt mean its right.
Well Bayard Rustin might have been of help to us in Ghana in the Nkrumaist period. Fine.he could have been a homo. fine. All gay guys could be generally good people as claimed by many, but i personally dont think its enough grounds for us to legalize homo here in Ghana.
Again the fact that we cant allow homo legalization here in Ghana is not the reason why Ghana is in Poverty. For that God will rather bless the nation. Trust me on that one.

If you say homosexuality is a sin then you judging it makes you as much of a sinner as a homosexual, according to your logic. Let God be the only judge, and like I have said before Jesus allowed a prostitute to kiss his feet and bless it with oil and deemed that action to be so worthy, ergo, you as an ordinary human being cannot declare just and unjust labels on certain acts and practices.
Love is love. The greatest emotion one can ever feel. If other people experience love with the same sex, then so be it! How boring would this world be if we were all the same people with the same destinies. I'm a lover of diversity and change in all shapes and forms. I will not say homosexuality is wrong because all things that are inherently wrong are affirmed to be crimes and connoted with sanctions and penalties.
Yes, the Bible does say homosexuality is wrong, but it is also the same Bible that says women are not allowed be in the general public or touch a man when they are on their menstrual period. The Bible, although is a divine book, is also a book of a lot of cultural inflences from the ancient times!
All I know is the biggest message ever preached in the Bible was acceptance and not judging and that is exactly what I do because God is an all loving God and an all loving God loves everyone including homosexuals.
Do you know that suicide rates are the highest among homosexuals? Do you know that most homosexual teens are mentally depressed? Do you know that most homosexual teenagers are self mutilators? Do you know that most hate crimes are generated towards homosexuals? I don't think it is God's will for any population of people to suffer like these people are suffering right underneath our noses, yet we allow it to happen and perpetuate some of the hatred. It is time to live and let live. When people talk negatively about homosexuals they need to also look at their deficiencies in the eyes of their god. We have enough issues we need to release outta the country. now bringing the lifestyles of homos into Africa is just a shame. Like I've said in my comments. Keep it to yourselves. You think being gay is not harmful to us? Please. there are gay brothers on the down low acting all Hetro and are even married. Some may call it Bi sexual i still call it gay. Exposing diseases like AIDS to our kids. Stop it. We've got to stop it. I've been married for 14 years now and it scares me to hear all this going on in Ghana. It hurts God enough to see his beloved children living in this kind of perverted life whice he despises. But to bring it out in the open and let human being question his power is a sin. And i don't think it's fair to have such people display thier perverted lifestyle outside and on shows, we have children that see stuff like this and it's just wrong. Where do u think the next generation is gonna get with somewhat role models(mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, teachers....) for our children? Being gay in your mind is sin enough you've committed. I will say shame unto you. The Bible says anyone that says there is no God is a fool...How can you incinerate that God does not exist and so sinners will go score free; all sinners will be punished. The Bible holds everything that God Almighty created from beginning to end so it's our instrument and tool in life.

Thank PATRICIAL. Since legalizing gay in Canada, has decision made by gay parliamentarian affect you in any way or shape? My guess is NO!
Thank you.

Why are you bringing this stupid issue up for discussion. We have better issues to contend with, right.
Why don't you ask whether we should allow the free use of heroine, cocaine, and other drugs. Who says these drugs have had harmful effects on those who take them. So what right have we got to stop these people from indulging in drugs if they choose to and if they can prove it doesn't have harmful effects on them.
Being gay is a choice not a birth right; just like those who indulge in what we term "harmful drugs". They deserve no public sympathy. If we are not careful one day some people who have sex with animals will get bold and start demanding rights just like gays. I rest my case.

WOW! I am shocked and appauled at the ignorance that these comments echo. it is 2007 i am very very sure that there are PLENTY of gay people in Ghana whether you want to acknowledge that fact or not. you choosing to not acknowledge the subject is not changing anything their lifestlyes! i'm not saying gay marriage should or should not be legalized in Ghana...but the close mindedness of Ghanaians are getting REDUNDANT!!! Do not use God as a factor and basis for your prejudices and discriminations. God is a God for EVERYONE! who are you to judge??? Even Jesus Christ let a prostitute kiss his feet so who are you to judge! Please don't cast the first stone! I realized homosexaulity is an abomination in the Ghanaian culture but all sins in the Bible are abonimations in God's eyes...so please don't single out homosexuals and make them the objects of disgust and contempt! My God people...this is exactly what is wrong with the world these days!
Reply to this
Who care if it's 2007. Does it mean we have to change our morals and beliefs? If someone goes mad do you go mad right along with them? It is very tempting and easy to get caught up in material wealth especailly if you are in a place that doesn't have much. But I don't believe that mimicing in a material sense doesn't include becoming gay. And fro your earlier comment, beign gay is not innate. If it was there would have been many more gays in Africa before the world became a Global Village and many western cultures were introduced to Africa. This is recent. Anything innate is uncontrollable. The desire to be agy wouldn't have been controlled this far. A lot more gay people would have come out of their closets a long time ago. Africa doesn't need anymore of the white man's disease and brain washing.
Reply to this
no one's saying change your morality and beliefs but one MAIN aspect of african morals and beliefs if you wanna get technical is UNITY and ACCEPTANCE. you don't have to agree with what gay people do in their private lives but you can at least be courteous to them!!! and dont make hasty generalizations by proclaiming africans being gay is a result of intercourse with western cultures...it might have not been public but i'm pretty damn sure it existed! even the issue of being gay in America for instance was not acknowledged until after the feminist movement in the 70's so homosexuality in itself as a public aspect of culture as a whole is a fairly recent phenomenon PERIOD!

You do what you like with your beliefs. I don't antagonize or look down on people. I don't have them as my best friends but I do have a few that I deal with at school. My friendship, however, ends on campus. I am not worried what they do in their private homes, just as I'm not worried about what the druggies do in their own time and space. I am going to do my best though to prevent this from becoming the norm. There may have been gay people as far as the beginning but that still doesn't make it normal. I don't know about you but I am raising my children to be respectful of anyone but also to choose right from wrong. If you don't care about your kids coming home gay that's your problem. I, as, a mother believe that it is morally wrong and it is my responsibility to guide my children in the right path!

I just want to say you are an abomination to Ghana. It seems like you have been brainwashed by the western culture and that is why people like you should be killed in Ghana or any African country that is against Gays or gay marriages. Listening to people like you talk makes me feel sick to my stomach, due to the devilish mind set that people like you acquire. I live in the United States and I'm in college. My room mate is an homosexual and sometimes I can't get over on what I see. But being in America and not American, I cannot do anything about it. let me give you a word of advise, if you go in public to support the act of homosexual marriage, I'm sure some one would do something to you. so just keep your sinful thoughts to yourself.

Samuel, you decided to reply to my post without reading what Ii wrote. I am not supporting gay people. I am against them. We are on the same page but don't be so quick to criticise. Who are you referring to? Is it me or the person who is in support of gay marriages?
Reply to this
darknlovely I just want to apologize to you. The comment I made wasn't intended to you. I read your comment and it did not support the act of homosexuality, but it was my error. I intended to sent that comment to Priscilla N. but not you. I did not intend to offend you it was my miss understanding.

you're an abomination to humanity! Don't address me with your hate and your close minded ignorant remarks. I stand for what I believe in just like you stand for what you believe in and if you read ALL my comments i mention I am not for or against gay marriage in Ghana, however I AM against idiots like you that prejudge and hate people based on their sexual orientation. Don't refer to my opinions and views as devilish because acceptance is a biblical idea...you're really making yourself look like a freaking idiot. i don't even know why i'm wasting my time replying your nonsense!
Reply to this
What the hell are you talking about? If I am an abomination to Humanity, you are an abomination to the world and people who do not want to get involved in devilish acts. How am I an abomination to humanity when I'm a normal person. I'm very sure that I am more broadminded than uninformed human beings like you. You who are a humiliation to the world with you support of such mortify existence. Being homosexual is not biological but by choice. I don’t five a shit of what you believe in and I don’t even want to know what your immoral believes are. By the way I agree that reception is biblical but it’s also based on what should be acceptable. Theoretically, if you are trying to mention the bible, try to accept what the entire Bible says. How are you going to support homosexuality and mention the bible at the same time. By the way devil’s child, I am a much opened minded individual but there are some things that I don’t agree with and those who are involved in such acts and support it are disgrace to God’s creation. And I don’t give a fuck if your bitch ass replies me or not. Causes you know why? I don’t give a fuck.
Reply to this
first of all you pretty much validated my point of being a senseless moron. broadminded??? right, i think any rational person will know that any one who claims to be open minded does not sound as ludicrous as you do. Before you attribute yourself with that term look it up in the dictionary. and before you come at me with irrelevant criticisms get a lesson in vocabulary, grammar and writing. The Bible mentions homosexuality as a sin along with other sins such as stealing, adultery, fornication, drunkeness, etc. So why don't you single out people who drink or "fornicate" and take away their rights??? a sin is a sin!!! In God's eyes they all have the same value. Who are you to judge?! I DO ACCEPT ALL of the biblical doctrines and that is why I chose not to hate and judge ANYONE! We are all God's creation. And obviously YOU DO CARE WHAT MY BELIEFS AND MORALS ARE cos they bother you so damn much!!! And I think personally the negative attitudes towards gay people are not a biblically derived notion, it's basically cultural because the Bible does not teach us to hate.

What the hell do you mean with "brainwashed by the western marriage"?? Its not us who has been "brainwashed" since we were little ones to believe in some of the crab your priests are telling you every
sunday in church. I have been in ghana so i know what im talking about. Honoustly, if i had been a ghanaien i would have been shameful how you were treaten the homosexuals in ghana. That is not how you improve your country. And the last thing, if we here in the western world are brainwashing the population, how come many of you wanna travel to europe? Because here we are rich because here we are all equal,no matter your religious belief, sexual interest

man fuck you, you are not even Ghnanian and why are you on this site? We are just saying that homosexuality is not of God, and thats why we forbid it being legalized in Ghana. Every country that glorify the act of homosexualism and other things that God forbids in the bible, would be punished by God. I don't give a damn if everyone who lives in a developed has wealth or not. To me life is still important than wealth so in that case, developing countries do not have to support or legalize homosexuality in order to generate wealth. As an African, I believe that homosexuality is wrong and thats the most degrading activity a person can ever get involve in. reply me if you have another unnecessary thing to say. MR.Danish Gay.
Reply to this
I know that this is a discussion on gay marriage, but that's not what I want to comment on, right now. Danish guy, you are stupid as hell, you ask why ghanaians want to travel to europe and then say because you are rich, but ask yourself this, how did europe become so wealthy? They obtained their wealth from Africa, so really they're just travelling to europe to earn what was rightfully theirs to begin with, and if you're so equal in Denmark regardless of the colour of your skin, then how come you people have so much hatred for arabs and call them 'perker' (a racist word) or immigrants even if they are born there, how come you call black people for 'neger' (nigger) all the time, even on national TV and radio as if that's normal and not a racist word! The only people who are treated fairly and equally in Denmark are white people!

Priscilla, i will like to say that u make a valid and very conclusive argument about your point of view on this issue. But,(Africans)Ghanaians, if you know our history were colonized by the westerns. Our exiting way of life was drastically change due to this. We had to adopt to their culture which was impose on forefathers. so on that its merely a copy of the western lifestyle but an adaptation, of survival. But we hold certain beliefs and are willing to keep it as that. This issue is only becoming provident because its being accepted in many European and American countries. I believe many of the comments posted here are just simply stating that what goes on behind close doors, should stay close doors. Although, there are gays and lesbians in Ghana, it should not be publicized. I also think that it all goes back to the beginning of time; God created man and woman and i think that if you believe in the WORD you are more prone to be close minded about the issue and be against. It's not judging. Anyway, i could go on and on analyze every aspect of everyones' comment but i think I've said enough. Take care.

i truly cannot believe how far we've come yet!! it firstly started with our own ghanaian porn industry, which gave ghana (the heart of africa) a totally bad reputation. Now we want to legalize gays and lesbians and "celebrate" possible marriages of this abnormal things. it is a shame even to consider these thoughts. Apart from your people being very religious, either Christians or Muslims, being gay is not part of your culture. it is true, these people are out there in ghana but you must not give them the right to become the same as normal people. Some of you will disagree with me but yes, it isnt normal to be homosexual. i sometimes feel ashamed of my home country making an idiot out of itsself, in copying what other countries do. it is sad to read such things nowadays, and to see that people supporting it too. it is obvious that all values are vanished and that there is no appreciation and respect for and in ghana, and in the ghanaian community anymore. i hope people are going to change their minds and help to build new respect, and a new sense of pride for ghanaians in and outside ghana.

people ,people calm down. Why is it that us straight people get so work up abput gay issues?I think onmly gay man from ghana are the one who are suppose to talk about this, they should be the only ones to do so actually.Since they are the only ones that would be affected by this.About the God issue ,well if your religion is against homosexuality then , don't get involved in a same sex marriage.Same sex marriage has nothing to do withthe respect of the sanctity of marriage.Divorce does and the way we treat our spouses. Now the bible that you'll are talking about preach peace accetance and tolerence. If you want to bring the bbible into this debate then don't be picky.Don't choose the parts that are working for your argument ,take the full bible in account.
With all that being said,There is never going to be gay mariage in ANY african country. At least not in a near future ,not just yet.COME ON eveen in america it is not legal.

umm P.N. This is the stupidest comment you've made here. How on earth would you compare South Africa to Ghana. Ofcourse homosexuality is legalized, but look where it got them: the country is coming to its knees as AIDS sweeps them over.
The whole population is white, with western ideas. South Africa, a land once filled with great African leaders like Shaka, now brought to its knees. And it fills me with disgust to know that you're proudly quoting it to support your arguments. Frankly dear, any african country is better than South Africa because at least you'd know the country is for you and other black men, not some blue eyed men!

Do u in your right state of mind think ur argument here is helpful in any kind of way. It is wrong whether u think it's prejudging or what not. It's wrong. u may not be gay but ur thinking is. So please keep ur common comment. It's only an excuse. With people like u always finding a reason to think human beings should be plain human beings because God created us to live and let live. We are here on earth to prepare ourselves to meet Our Heavenly Father. Yes God is for everyone and that's simple why we should respect what he means and accept the reasons of why He made us male and female- to be reproductive! So stop talking about accepting them and not judge them. I beg sis think straight!

HELL FUCKING NO GAY MARRIAGE SHOULD NEVER BE LEGALIZED IN GHANA. WHEN GOD CREATED ADAM AND EVE WHERE THEY GAY. GAY IS A SPIRITUAL ACT WHICH THE DEVIL PUT INSIDE PEOPLE TO BE ATTRACTED TO THEIR OWN SEX BUT IN SOMEPLACE LIKE AMERICA ITS SAYS FREE COUNTRY AND THE CAN DO WHATEVER THEY WANT WELL ACCORDING TO ME OR GOD ITS A SIN.
NEVER NEVER.

It saddens me to see that Ghanaian's are following the the west and their immoral behaviors. How can a well cultured country like Ghana ever thought about such act when there are many problems in Ghana yet to be solved. How about the government work on given people health insurance and also work on providing ways and means of providing health services to people in case of emergency just like there is 911. There are major aspects of the western system they can acquire and incorporate into their system, instead, they are engaging in this satanic act of homosexuality. Please Ghana government, work on improving education, health, and careers for Ghanaian's instead of this irrelevant issue. THis should not even be the topic of discussion being that Ghana is not up to par with the rest. WOrk on making our country better instead of bringing it down.

ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. they dont contribute to the growth of the human population, except to degrade and corode the fabric of society. WITH PEOPLE LIKE THAT THERE'S NO WONDER THAT THE WORLD IS BACKWARD. Am I wise than God who crate heavens and earth no,as I said Gays need no right for anything,it is not am discriminating no,rather is an ABOMINATION: how can a man doing such a shameful thing to his neibour, Jesus told us to love our neibour as ourselves but you are rather doing a great hamm to your niebuor,it is not good please repent and accept Jesus as your the Lord of you live.In John 10.10 Jesus say I have come that they may have life and life more aboundtantly life to its fullness, Jesus did not come to destroy lifes, but why did you destroy peoples live, you are destroying people lives, and gays can not produce anything then why did they have to destroy what God have created, people lives
Please you Lawyers be carefuly not to apodt this law for legalisation the gays need no legalisation they need REPENTANCE to accept Jesus Chrisr as Lord of there life, and so they can change their mind and live a good and start prasing God and worshiping him AMEN.

My life is filled with tears and sadness due to the odd treatment I face in my own country each day.
I never have evil intensions to harm anyone or commit any crime. I am as normal as everyone except that I prefer to be with a man rather than a woman. I guess it is time for us to wake up. Because there are a lot of ghanian people that are gay, but are afraid to stand forward and admit it, just because it isn't accepted in the society. Why shouldn't gay people live a happy life, just because they are being discriminated for there sexual preference? I guess it's time that we start accepting people that have different values than we do,because it is not a crime to be different. Every individual is unique in his or her way and whishes to be respected for it. And for crying out loud, stopt using arguments that are based on religion, because this isn't a matter of religion, but it is based on respect. Do gay couples harm us in anyway by being married? Isn't it the right of every human being to be happy? We don't have the right to judge anybody for what they are, and if you all are so strong believers. The last person that is aloud to judge another human being is God. I mean gay couples are humans just as you and I and have rights that have to be respected in order to call ghana a democracy. You should threat your neighbour as you wish to be threaten. I just want to make things clear that being gay is not a crime, it is not an illness. It is something which you are born with and can't change. i guess there are a lot of gay people right now that due to this issue wish to be heterosexual if you'd ask them, because they just don't feel happy and accepted for who they are.. But the thing is, we don't get to choose who we are. So who's the one to blame now? just think about it? You? Me? Or them?

Nobody is born gay.God is not stupid. Its what peopel do with their lives and get punished with things like this amongst others. Just as you are talking right now, you can start having children who will all be gay and see what you will feel. Be mindful of what you say. though you are not for or against the motion but to say we should treat them with respect or whatever is being part of them.
Certain moral acts should be killed right from the on-set. Gay is one of them and please my dear, pray for your kids.

It is a shame knowing that Ghanaians have these prejudices when we claim to be some of the most communal and accepting people in Africa. Some of you even go to the extend of saying kill gay people! If being gay is not a crime and normal why is it that most gay people are hiding and wouldn't bring them self out. I feel like choking myself when I here people say that "gay people are born with it and cant do anything about it. is not by choice." okay, how about murders. a person who have to kill in other to live. is it by choice or murders are born to be murders and cant do anything about it. If people shouldnt judge gay people and accept them for who they are then all types of sin like(fornicating, abortion, murdering, prostitution, and all type of sins should be accepted and legelised whether being harmful or not. All type of sins are sin. In the eyes of God and all human beings, homosexuality is wrong but people have tuned into their own world and accept what is wrong from right. We are scared to admitt that is wrong to be homo that is why people have the nerve to say it is right just to save face and not to hurt peoples feelings. yes, God is the only judge of us but he never say we should support what is wrong. I'm against the act
but I accept them for who they are us a person.

I agree with Kwasi Boakye when he says " If we are not careful one day some people who have sex with animals will get bold and start demanding rights just like gays". You know, how can we allow such a thing in our country. It is against christianity and I am sure it is against the gods as well. WHY IS IT THAT THE BIBLE SAYS A MAN SHALL LEAVE HIS FATHERS HOUSE AND CLING TO HIS WIFE SO THAT THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH. and WHY IS IT THAT GOD DESTROYES SODOM AND GOMORRAH IN THOSE DAYS. Ghanaians should think about things like this before accepting them as laws for we will not know what kind of harm we inflict upon ourselves until it has been done just like our forefathers decided to cooperate with these europeans before they realised they were enslaving themselves. BE WISE, DONT LET THEM ENSLAVE US A SECOND TIME.

okay, mamsaps, I'm comparing homo to murders biblically. All type of sin is a sin. either harmful or not. Just like homesexuality is not harmful so is prostutition but we are more likely to of given gays that rights than prostitute. What is rights anyway. You can find your own rights in your own little world. If they think is right they should just live with with it. They dont need anyone to defined their life or need anyone to tell them what is wrong from right. Gay American comments:
Hello Ghana brothers and sisters,
I ask that you stop with any anti gay prejudice you have.
Peace

Peace

The Bible says go ye into the world and multiply. My dear, does Jesus Christ whom you worship mean settling down with woman and bring forth children or with a Man and remain childless for the rest of your life? Read 1corinthians 6:9.
I tell you the truth being gay is not normal. It is demonic. Take it all leave it.We cant allow Gay legalisation in Ghana. Period!!!! You can say whatever and read whatever, its morally wrong to allow you gays to marry here in Ghana.

Hello Priscilla,
We understand what you guys are trying to say.Discrimination should not be tolerated in any form wherever.
what we are saying is that everyone has the right to be with whoever he/she wants, but we cant allow homosexuality to be legalized in Ghana.
I have been in Ghana for the past two years until january this year and for me its a great improvement since i left some years ago.

sam-sam,
Jesus did not preach in favor of a lot of things such as, alcohol, sex, and so on, that are now highly tolerated in our societies. But that is not my point, my main point is that do not use the bible to discriminate because you still are.

When are we going to let people be people without all of these labels. I personally am not a homosexual, and I really don't care what someone does in the privacy of their own home as long as they are 2 consenting adults. If they display affection in public I still don't care. They are not bothering me. I don't think homosexuals chose to be that way any more than I chose to be of African descent. It is time to live and let live. When people talk negatively about homosexuals they need to also look at their deficiencies in the eyes of their god. The people usually talking the loudest about gays turn out to be gay themselves. In short get a live and mind your own business and let other grown folks mind their own business. After all they're not asking to be gay in your house are they?

Another senseless remark. What do u mean by gays not choosing to be gay? Education is the best policy people. Being born black is a genetic wonder being gay on the other hand is a mind thing. kids grow up being exposed to gay acts, everywhere gay people get accepted. This shouldn't be the case in Africa. We plan to come back home soon with our 3 children because of the same crazy stuff going on here and now even in Our precious Africa we are now adapting to this shameful and senseless acts of the western world.
P.s.Hell no!!! they betta not be asking me to let them be gay or talk gay in my house!

I really hate how peope are trying to say being gay is right it is wrong. Traditionally nope it is not an African thing. Oral sex is not neither. Africans do not clean someones underneith with their mouth. Those things gays depend on and it is not an African practice.

Gay marriage should NOT be legalized in Ghana. It is against what the bible says and is Ghana my home country not a Christian kingdom? My Brothers and Sisters show sense. Gay marriage is only going to corrupt our home nation.

In the beginning, God Almighty created MAN and WOMAN, he did not create man and man or woman and woman so gay marriage should never be legalized in Ghana.

The Bible says all men are created equally, what does that mean. yes Gays should be allowed to live their lives freely in ghana, a legislation must be passed in parliament to ensure that the treatment of gays are equal under the law

Nobody is taking away the fact that you have to live your life. You have no idea how far we Ghanaians are prepared to go to protest against gay legalization in Ghana.
Look around you, even this site where we all share our views, that alone will tell you how many people are not in favour of Gay legislation in Ghana.
I beg all the gay guys to seek help from God. You people are very sick. Being gay is demonic.
Shame on you gay guys, if your mothers and fathers were all gays, would it be possible for you to born, and having the guts today to come here and tell us all this bullshit about passing legislation to legalize gay in Ghana.
To hell with you gay guys. You can do your shit, but dont come out here and talk as if you are Normal people.
Ghanaians say no. Period!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ghanaians need to stick with what they know and what we have always believed always. And that is that gay marriage or anything of that sort is an abomination. Ghanaians have been heading the right way for the past three years now lets not ruin our blessings by this act. But ghaians approving of gay marriage it will cut short our blessings because Gods' will, will not be done.

This is sick. How can we Africans still be this stupid! We always seem to think whatever the white man does must be good so we copy evrything they do! they don't believe in God the way we do. i would advice those who are gay to keep it to themselves. Gay people you really need prayers. And I don't care if I offended the gay. You don't deserve mercy. You've offended God enough. Sick people! God will have enough punishment awaiting you so go on.
