Yes, Van is married but no, not to Nadia. The good looking actor tied the knot four years ago with Adjoa Van Vicker and they have two lovely daughters, J-dyl, three and J-ian, one.

Yes, he is married but no, not to Nadia. The good looking actor tied the knot four years ago with Adjoa Van Vicker and they have two lovely daughters, J-dyl, three and J-ian, one.
Talking to the Graphic Showbiz, Van said the issue about him being married to Nadia came up on several occasions when he recently visited the United States to premiere The Return of Beyonce, a Venus Films Production in which he played the lead role.
“The whole thing blew out of proportion when people got to know that I was in town. My fans, 97% of whom were females were all over me asking for autographs. They wanted to know if Nadia was my wife in real life.
“They could easily identify me wherever I went, imagine me walking down the streets of New York and people just screaming my name or simply calling me Raj (his name in Beyonce). It was amazing and I couldn’t believe that our movies had been so well accepted by the people over there,” he said.
Another thing that people always argue about is his nationality. Van says he is of mixed race. “My father is Dutch and my mother is of Ghanaian and Liberian parentage. So you see I belong to all three and that’s the nice thing about being mixed.”
Van’s visit was not limited to just the Bronx in New York where the premiere took place but he was also invited to other states like Virginia, Maryland, Washington DC and Ohio.
Dinners were held on his behalf in almost all the places he visited and he was honoured with two awards—Excellence in Movies from the 1st Annual Ghanaian DJ Recognition Night, and another from Akwaaba Promotions.
Talks are also underway to make him a Ghanaian or African model for a Nike Company.
While in the US, Van said a Nigerian distributor told him that the sale of Ghanaian movies had increased and the biggest fans are those from the Caribbean who patronise them most because of the good story-lines and clean language.
He also found out that Universal Studios is interested in Ghanaian movies.
“Ghanaian movies have improved a lot from acting to sales, our producers may not be seeing it here but out there it is simply overwhelming.”
Perhaps Van is getting bigger than he imagined because even before he left and after his return from the US, he is getting lots of offers from producers all over especially from neighbouring Nigeria where he is set to play major roles alongside Nollywood stars like Genevieve Nnaji and Ramsey Nouah under Divine Productions.
So how is Van handling stardom? “It’s not so bad but it’s difficult being nice and keeping up with the fans all the time because sometimes they get too demanding.”
Van who won the Best Actor for Feature Film at the recently held Ghana Actors Guild awards said the honour has urged him to work harder because he appreciates the fact that as an actor he receives lots of criticisms as well as commendations,
“with movies one needs to improve all the time,” he said. Currently he is on set doing a production for A. A. Productions.
Van, who turned 30 on August 1 this year will be producing and directing his own movies from November this year, “we need to make more movies because people like our stuff and I am not just going to add to the numbers. My movies are going to be of high standard,” he said with a lot of enthusiasm.
For Van, it all started with Divine Love followed by Mummy’s Daughter and Beyonce, “from there everything started falling in place and I have been extremely busy for the past year and half.
He doesn’t have a favourite of all the movies he has done because he watches with a technical eye and always has this conviction that it could have been better.
Is Van Vicker rich? All he could say was that he is comfortable. Aside acting, he hosts a programme on TV called Game TV and runs Sky+Orange, an advertising agency and events management company.
He also runs a barbering shop, Babetown, where one can also shop for trendy clothes and shoes, play pool, listen to some good music, watch movies and have a drink.

He is hands down the best actor. I say that because I am 100 percent African-American and never was exposed to African movies. I think that about 80 percent of the Nigerian actors and actresses "over act" like with the screaming and yelling. I always have a headache after viewing one. Adn they seem to make a whole lot of emphasis on cars, wealth, and marraige in all the african movies I have ever seen. Anyway its just entertainment and it is nice to see how people that look like me live on the other side of the world.

I am blessing Mr. Van Vicker and his family though, real talk. I am glad he is married because I would hate to have to come all the way to Ghana to scoop him up and bring him to the states as my "boy toy." He is beautiful and I don't even like light-skinned men. He has supercute dimples, too!!!

It does not matter if they are light skinned or dark skinned black women go wild for men who look like Van Vicker. I live around allot of Cape Verdians many of them look like Van Vicker and some have dark skin they are some of the cutiest men you could ever set your eyes on. believe me I know looks are not everything. I live here in America and have hever beer to any other conutry in all my 29 years. My dad is from the Dominican Republic and he is black like most of the people there, except his first language is spanish and and mom is black. And my I was just implying my preference is a dark-skinned man. I was just complimenting on how good he does look, considering I din't even look twice at a lighter man. Because in this country, I'm sure like in many other countries they look at the lighter ones as the better looking ones. Maybe I need to save some money and go to Africa and find one.

Way to go !! I first got introduced to his characters by watching Beyonce. I wanted to know if Van went to acting school? How did he get so good at acting. I am of ghanian descent but been in the US for over 20years. I love watching Ghana movies, I would like to see more of Van and others act in more movies. Keep up the great work. I didn't think black people lived in Rhode Island USA. I'm from the USA and have not met a black person from there yet. Van, for the first time in my life on sunday March 9, 2008 I visited my friend after church and she convince me to watch an african movie, I am glad I did, so we watched Beyonce'and I could not get enough, so I had to borrow her DVD and in one night I watched Beyonce and the return of Beyonce. The plot is good the suspense is amazing and most of all you are a very prolific actor, very passionate about your work,I do like that, I congratulate you and wish you continued success in your future endeavors, I hope to get an autograph from you the next time you are in town. I am an American and I have just been addicted to the Ghanaian and Nigerian movies. I was introduced to them by my Ghanaian co workers and I for one love Van Vickers acting style and presence I think he is creating a big name for himself in the United States. I do wish him well in everything he does and I hope he continues to use his gifts that God has given to him. All right, he sure is hot, handsome ... whatever you want. And I will even admit that I'd watch very single movies in here because of his great looks. But, c'mon, let's face it. The guy can't act. He's trying so hard it pains. Everytime he has a sad scene and has to cry, I burst into uncontrollable laughters. He has never been able to embody his characters even for a minute. He actually always play the same character over and over again, which is him trying to act as some one-dimensional dude. But to his defense the movies he is in are poorly constructed. The dialogues are a collection of song lyrics. The storylines are laughable. But, despite all this, would I still see a movie he is in it? Probably yes, if I find the time. But only because he is hot.

Not for nothing. Van Vicker is an ok actor. He is not ugly that we know. But you're forgetting about some of his faults in the movies. We should focus more on helping him improve his acting especially if he is challenging himself and is working on producing his own movies. We should help with ideas, and work more on his challenges. Yes, we know all the facts about him and now move on. He is like any other actor. He is human, i'm pretty sure that Adjoa is putting up with somethings that you guyz would not dear want to put up with anyone. May the Vicker family life be blessed. Hi.. The comment about van being popular in the west indies is very correct. I'm from Trinidad and it appears that everyone is crazy about him.... Me included.. I guess the fact that he's married means i have to stop lusting about him.. lol... But on a serious not.. His acting has been improving.. He gets better with every movie i see... Actually he's really good now... Anyway he should start getting picky with his films.. I hate it when i buy a movie expecting to see him and he end up not being the lead actor.... Once he not in the movie i'm not watching it..
