I think it should, when it come to illness there situations where it is the only option for people to treat their sickness and it being illegal right now in Ghana is killing life, I had a friend who had cancer who uses scientific wee and it didn't help him, his doctor prescribed natuaral marijuana for him, which he said will help him, so he went to town in accra to buy it but was arrested and kept in police cells for a week after his released, he illness got worse and he passed away in 2006

If it should be legalized then it should be bought only on prescription basis as many would abuse the initiative. Even then people can pay their way to get the prescription. But if only it will save life then a proper facility should be put in place for those who need it for genuine reasons to have access to it.

The Government should legalize it and tax it, right now that it is illegal in ghana the police are not winning the battle and it is still been sold tax free, so I think the country is losing this billions in tax money, that can be used to improve the economy

Why didn't you people come out with such a briliant idea during Rawlings,he would have easily legalized it since he himself would have been part of. Oh!shit!,it's too late now. Response to kwame. dont you think if it will save life at least i should be allowed to be used at special facilities where the people needing it can go and smoke it to save their life? the government has to set up a special unit to make sure the general wee smokers dont abuse the program, Im a non-smoker so guys dont think Im supporting it for my benefit, my question is would you deny someone from smoking to regain their health or would you let them die

i know it has some medical benefits. i believe it suppresses pain making it easier to cope with certain conditions while recieving treatment.

if alcohol is legal, tabaaco, cafe,,why not all drugs..probably Americans try to control this business,,if people want to be sick or healthy it is their choice..i dont see any crime here..but is one person forse another to use drugs,,it is a crime,,,ghana too much admire Western point of view...it is good to learn from others but not to be blind,,,if marijuana and other drugs will be legalize ,,many drug users will come to make a business...in USA most drugs are illegal for that reason is a high crime...let people decide to be drug addicted losers or healthy succesful individuals...government should not make a decision for. others...if any government forse own citizen to not use drugs or use drugs ..it is a violence ...violence is a crime and action against human rights

abena, mi sista from anoda mother, fi those ones who smoke it as their daily bread; dem will still do it..legalized or not but what I mean is that it should be legalized cos it is a herb plant, growing naturally pon de earth. It can heal a lot of desease instead of chemical tins dem of which most of the time causes anoda deseases to it. But the more dangerous cigarettes and alcohol, dem legalize it! the marijuana is know been legalized in many countries and very soon President Barak Obama is to legalize it in america.People cannot go to jail because of a plant which was made by God.because my people lack knowledge they Perish. Marijuana is the King of all plants and Africa should be proud to have such a plant which cures many deseases and suppresses many forms of cancers.it is the cure for Glaucoma and many other diseases. There is 90% evidence that marijuana is better than Alcohol and cigarettes which contain nicotine...Ghana is putting our people into mental slavery and imprisoning several innocent souls.because of a plant.Marijuana is also the mildest of all drugs and the purest also.Poverty can be reduced with the production of marijuana because it will provide jobs for individuals.we can get material , fiber, oils , bio-diesel,medicine and many more.marijuana is been used all over the world and in many of our every day products like our body lotions , soaps , medicine, clothes, news paper , and many more.God never said marijuana was Bad! but mental slavery produced invoked from the white man has made us forget about the blessings found in such a plant and now the white man is making use of it and we are suffering for it. The problem is that many people are making a lot of money out of it being illegal,the war on drugs is a multi- billion dollar business where tax payers are robbed by governments around the world and the truth about our God given plants is not revealed by the mass media. How many Africans know that one of the main reasons Marijuana was made illegal in the USA in 1933 was on the basis of racism? Here are some notes from the history of marijuana:-When Montana outlawed marijuana in 1927, the Butte Montana Standard reported a legislator's comment: "When some beet field peon takes a few traces of this stuff... he thinks he has just been elected president of Mexico, so he starts out to execute all his political enemies." In Texas, a senator said on the floor of the Senate: "All Mexicans are crazy, and this stuff [marijuana] is what makes them crazy."
In the eastern states, the "problem" was attributed to a combination of Latin Americans and black jazz musicians. I believe that Satan is behind all the lies about marijuana, look at the people who call it "Abonsam Tawa" these are usually deceptive people and as you pointed out there are no recorded deaths from it's use, but millions die each year from tobacco related illness.
Alcohol which is the sacrament of the modern society is responsible for more deaths than any other drug, where,as marijuana is a plant of peace and can help to rid the world of greed and violence. Anyone can see that the behaviour of humans in the modern world is abnormal, why are we destroying the planet? The reason is the wrong drugs are legal and the plants that can connect us with our creator are banned.

Hi, fellow countrymen. The benefit from spooking marijuana is known by anybody who had tried it before. Compare to alcohol i think it had soo many benifits, like killing pain in people who have sickness like cancar and severe head pain. So the only way to help this people is to ligalize it and tax it just like cigarette and alcohol.

By saying that, the devil will take over your mind or senses, after smooking marijuana is totally wrong. Tell me how many people do evil things after smooking marijuana.There are soo many people doing evil things who have never tried marijuana or alcohol in their life. The devil can work through anybody, even the most faithful religeous people. Marijuana have many benifits than the bad name around it. Most drugs like pain medications, contains marijauna, anybody oppose to the use must also oppose alcohol and pain medication. We have to move on in our life in a civilize way than staying in the stone age. So many nation have move on, and it's working. Why not Ghana.

Ghana should legalize the use of marujuana because it will allow the police to focus their attention to more serious crime like armed robbery, and it will also be a way for the goverment to raise tax revenue to cover for social services. thanks
