Success Of Educational Reforms Depend On Stakeholders Education Director
He urged all Circuit Supervisors to convene a meeting of teachers and parents to address any challenges militating against quality education in their communities.
The district director urged teachers to step up efforts to help improve the performance of their students.
The education director was interacting with staff of the directorate to keep them abreast with the modalities of the new reforms at Nkoranza.
He pointed out that "the directorate would educate the public and stakeholders on the new reforms but urged the staff to start with the sensitization exercise".
The district director noted that "the government has invested in the implementation of the programme and that it is incumbent on Ghanaians to help ensure its success".
Mr. Agyeman-Badu called for the collaborative efforts of teachers and parents to promote discipline among pupils and students so they would grow to become responsible and dedicated citizens.
He stressed that education of children at the basic level is free but it is cost-sharing at the Senior High School and Tertiary levels and it is the responsibility of parents to pay the fees of their children at those levels to complement government efforts.
He called on parents not to shirk their responsibilities to their children so they would not go wayward to the detriment of their education, adding, it is against the law for any parent to refuse to care for the child.
The district director advised parents to take advantage of the establishment of the technical and vocation education and training institute at Nkoranza, the first in Brong Ahafo and enroll their children.
