Youth commended for voluntay AIDS test

The Nkoranza District HIV/AIDS Focal Person, Mr. Hayford Kyere, has commended the youth in the area for patronizing the Voluntary Counseling and Testing (VCT) programme to know their health status.

He was addressing about 200 cashew farmers and staff of the District Assembly and decentralized departments at a workshop to sensitize them on the HIV/AIDS.
The focal person said members of the district AIDS committee  are touring the communities to educate the people on the importance of the counseling and testing exercise.

Mr. Kyere advised the people not to hesitate to go for the test as that would enable them to be cautious of their lifestyles and noting that the pandemic was on the ascendancy in the district advised the people against casual sex.
He refuted the claim that HIV/AIDS could spread through hand shaking, eating and drinking from the same bowls and cups with victims, adding, besides sex, sharing of common razor and tooth brush could also lead to the spread of the disease.
Mr. Kyere commended members of the Hope Association of Nkoranza for publicly identifying themselves as victims and sensiti zing the people about the pandemic.
He urged people living with the HIV to register with the association and join in the crusade against its spread.

Mr. Kyere urged Assembly Members and unit committees to continue to educate the people on the importance of the VCT exercise to encourage more youth to patronize it.

    why would people get their teenager tested for aids and stuff, if you know that they are not having sex then you should trust them if they have any desiese
