Accra to host CHAN 2nd leg game

The Ohene Djan Stadium in Accra would host the second leg African Nations Championship match between Togo and Ghana.

Togo’s use of the Accra grounds is due to a home suspension imposed on the Hawks by the Confederation of African Football for crowd troubles in the build to the 2008 Nations Cup qualifiers.

The grounds, which hosted the first leg match which ended 2-0 in Ghana’s favour last week, would be in use again on Saturday when the two sides line up for the reverse game at 15:30GMT.

“Caf has banned Togo from playing home in their home country as a result of the misconduct of its fans after an international match against Mali last year.

“In this regard; Togo is playing home from its base in Lome,” a statement by the Ghana Football Association read.

Both nations are attempting to reach the ultimate round of the qualifying campaign for the maiden tournament.

A win for the Black Stars will see Ghana progress to the ultimate round of qualifiers following a first leg advantage.
