French Navy to Visit Ghana
A French Navy Ship, La Foudre is expected to dock at the Tema Harbour next Tuesday. A statement issued by the French Embassy, said the presence of the ship in Ghana forms part of its regular mission along the West Coast of Africa.
It said the crew will join the Ghana Navy in training activities including exercises at sea as well as in harbour and ship visiting. The statement said the purpose of the French Navy ship is to reinforce the existing ties between the French and the Ghanaian Naval Forces.
It said the La Foudre was in Ghana in December 2008 and last year. The ship has a crew of nineteen officers, 125 petty officers and 102 ratings. While in the country the Naval Staff will renew and modernize the Anani Memorial International School at Nima a surbub of Accra as part of its cooperation with Civil Society. The La Foudre leaves the shores of Ghana on the 29 of this month. GNA
