NPP Must Ban Alan & Nana Addo - Dan Botwe

The Director of Campaign Strategy of the main opposition New Patriotic Party and Member of Parliament for Okere constituency, Dan Botwe, says the party secretariat must be bold to place an embargo on Nana Akufo-Addo and Alan Kyeremanteng from campaigning for the party's flagbearership position.

According to him this will help put a stop to the unending debate and commentary about the so called Nana Addo and Allan Kyeremanteng factions in the party. Mr. Botwe told Citi News that if the situation is not checked, it will be detrimental to the party’s quest to reclaim power in 2012.

He advised the party leadership to learn from the approach of the ruling NDC when an embargo was placed on campaigning for positions in their national executive election before an official lift was announced.

“…by December this year we will select our flagbearer…obviously people are positioning to sell themselves, I expect the NPP to take a cue from what the NDC did, even in the national executive elections, they (NDC) put an embargo, nobody could campaign …and that is what the party secretariat should be bold enough to do to cut off all this Alan and Akuffo Addo nonsense”. Dan Botwe said.

Mr. Botwe added that he was dismayed that issues about Nana Addo and Alan Kyeremanteng were clouding all the good work the party had done in organizing successful elections in about 21,000 polling stations and at regional levels as well.

He added that both Nana Akuffo-Addo and Alan Kyeremanteng cannot claim that they have contributed more to NPP than other members and therefore their ambitions of becoming flagbearer of the party should not cloud the party.

“Who is Alan Kyeremanteng and Akuffo-Addo when we come to the scheme of things for this party the two of them cannot say that they have done something more than anybody, even me, none of them can claim that their contribution to NPP is greater than mine…I am prepared to challenge anybody on that”. He added The NPP is scheduled to hold its national executive congress on February 27, to elect a new set of leadership to lead the party to the country’s general elections in 2012.  Source: citifmonline

This year's (Passover) celebration falls on tuesday 30th March 2010, and will continue for 7 days until monday the 5th of April. I am personally inviting all to celebrate this special holiday with family and friends as much as they love to celebrate Christmas and Easter; Passover is simply a Jewish holiday commemorating some four hundred years of slavery by the Isreali in Egypt, until they fanally escaped by the grace of the God of Abrahm through the prophet Moses.

I can hardly beleive why Herbert Addo (the so called head coach of the Local Black Stars) Chooses not to include goalkeeper Daniel Agyei in his current 25 man squad, after reducing that number from 44 man squad who were called up to camp. I think that goalkeeper Daniel Agyei deserves to be considered for a place in Championship of African Nations (CHAN) qualifier due to his recent peformance at the FIFA U20 World Cup in Egypt last year, the fact that he made the selection to the just ended African Cup of Nations in Angola, and due to his most current showing at the Ghana Bosnia friendlies days ago.
